DLA Piper named top workplace by Human Rights Campaign for sixth consecutive year
DLA Piper has been recognized as one of the best law firms for LGBT equality by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), appearing on its “Best Places to Work 2014” list for the sixth consecutive year. Earlier this year, DLA Piper received a perfect score on HRC’s Corporate Equality Index, which assesses the policies and practices of large US employers relating to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender employees.
“At DLA Piper, we strive to create an inclusive workplace where all of our people can flourish, and this latest recognition cements our firm-wide commitment to diversity, inclusion and equality,” said Genhi Bailey, DLA Piper’s director of Diversity and Inclusion.
The HRC is America’s largest civil rights organization working to achieve lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality. The organization advocates on behalf of LGBT Americans, mobilizes grassroots actions in diverse communities, invests strategically to elect fair-minded individuals to office and educates the public about LGBT issues.
DLA Piper has long been committed to the LGBT community with its US LGBT Resource Group serving as a forum and advisory body on matters important to the LGBT community, and providing opportunities for engagement in a variety of projects and initiatives. As part of the firm's annual celebration of LGBT Pride Month in the US, hundreds of lawyers and staff participate in nationally video-conferenced workshops designed to raise awareness of LGBT-related issues.
