DLA Piper celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

In recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month, several local D&I Committees hosted events celebrating the Hispanic diaspora and the ways Hispanic Americans have enriched our communities with their traditions and cultural practices.

Across the US, Hispanic Heritage Month is a chance to celebrate the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from the Caribbean, Central America, Mexico, South America and Spain.

DLA Piper offices celebrated nationwide:

  • On September 15, our Atlanta office hosted a luncheon of Colombian food.
  • On September 29, our Chicago office held a cocktail hour celebration with a variety of Hispanic foods. There was also a challenge to match photos of landmarks to the country in which they are located. Those who matched them correctly were entered into a drawing for all of the centerpieces in the room.
  • Our Silicon Valley office had a taco bar on September 23, and Houston hosted a breakfast on October 13.

DLA Piper's Edinburgh office, led by Iris Network UK Representative Chris Rennie, hosted the launch event for the "#TheseAreOurPrinciples" campaign, a social media campaign promoting LGBT+ equality across the Scottish Legal profession.
