The Leadership Alliance for Women highlighted at New York panel
On November 2, our New York office and the Leadership Alliance for Women (LAW) hosted the quarterly Law & Reorder, an event produced by Flex Time Lawyers LLC. The program focused on the results of this year’s Best Law Firms for Women report from Working Mother Media and Flex-Time Lawyers. For the third consecutive year, the organizations have recognized DLA Piper as one of the “Best Law Firms for Women.”
As a result of this recognition and the firm’s commitment to developing and promoting women lawyers into firm leadership, Flex Time Lawyers invited Heidi Levine (New York) to speak on the panel at the event.
The panel discussed innovative ways to improve parity among women and men at large law firms. Panelists shared their success stories and current challenges. Heidi noted that increased competition with other firms for clients is being mirrored in competition for origination credit, translating to greater clout within a firm. “In order for everyone to do well, we have to collaborate, and to collaborate appropriately, you have to have an equal credit allocation,” she said. “If that changes, that will drive incentives.”
